From the late 1970´s, when the hotel started to work (at that time named the Polana hotel), it was opened only for the representatives of the ruling establishment. From the very begining the hotel was an architectural masterpiece of its times. A nontypical hemisperic construction, the interier with crystal chandeliers and wood carvings. Several different conference rooms remember a lot of political negotiations having an impact on the history of Slovakia in the 20th century. A part of the Slovak history is the hotel´s history as well. After renovation done in 2015 the hotel changed its name and became the Montfort hotel****.
